Getting Started with U-M Google Services at UM-Dearborn.
Overview
U-M Google is a G Suite for Education software bundle that provides the core apps of Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sites, Classroom, and Hangouts. It also includes over 40 other apps designed to improve collaboration.
M+Google is available to all Staff, Faculty, Students and Alumni.
Solution
U-M Google is accessed using your Uniqanme and UMICH Password.
Here is a list of commonly used apps on campus
Google at U-M may be used with some types of sensitive data if used in the manner which is detailed in the Sensitive Data Guide to IT Services. You are responsible for using Google appropriately with sensitive university data and taking the precautions listed on Security and Privacy in the U-M Google Environment.
Download and install the products below from Google Play (Android devices) or the App Store (iOS devices).
Gmail
Send professional email.
Read and send emails when you're away from your computer.
Calendar
Online calendars designed for teams.
Running late for a meeting? Use Calendar to reschedule or let people know you’re on your way.
Contacts
Online address book.
Quickly send messages or calendar invitations to groups of people you contact the most, without entering their addresses individually. (Only available on Android devices.)
Google Meet
Hold video meetings with people inside or outside U-M.
Quickly join a meeting to collaborate and develop relationships with your team regardless of where they are in the world.
Google Chat
Chat directly with a coworker or communicate with your entire team at once.
Create a room to brainstorm ideas with your team.
Drive
Online file storage.
Visiting someone off-campus and need a PDF or video? After you store a file in Drive, you can easily pull it up anytime on your mobile device.
Docs
Create, edit, and collaborate on documents.
Never lose track of talking points for your next meeting. Jot down notes on the way—or speak your notes and reminders instead.
Sheets
Create, edit, and collaborate on spreadsheets.
Did an important deadline or resource change right before a meeting? Update your shared project plan on the go.
Slides
