Problem/Question

How do I run the COB Advising Holds Process?

Overview

The COB advising holds are placed using a process developed in UC4.

There are three separate jobs as follows:

• COB_ADVISING_HOLDS_REQUIRED
• COB_ADVISING_HOLDS_GRAD_PLAN
• COB_ADVISING_HOLDS_MIDTERM

As a preliminary step, users will need to have the university VPN enabled and the UC4 client installed or access to MiDesktop. Additionally, a file transfer application such as WinSCP is required for file uploads. More details are provided in the Additional Information section at the bottom of the article.

Solution

Note: Please make sure that you are connected to VPN

1. Enable VPN
2. Start the UC4 Application
3. Drop files to the server using WinSCP. Refer to this article

                a. File naming convention is as follows:

                    cob_advising_holds_required.csv

                    cob_advising_holds_grad_plan.csv

                    cob_advising_holds_midterm.csv

                b. File contents should be a list of UMIDs with no header

         4. Run the process in UC4
