How do I use AppsAnywhere on an Apple computer?

Overview

AppsAnywhere is easiest to install on a Windows computer. In order to use it on a non-Windows computer, a Windows environment must be accessed either through a virtual machine (VirtualBox or Parallels), dual booting your computer to install Windows separately, or accessing MiDesktop.

Solution

These different options are provided to ensure COB students required to use AppsAnywhere for a class are able to access needed software. 

1. Install VirtualBox, VMware Fusion, or Parallels to create a virtual Windows computer for running the software. VirtualBox is a free download, while VMware Fusion and Parallels can be purchased from Computer Showcase at a discounted rate.
2. As a U of M student, you may download Office 365 and Window 10 for free using the following links:
   • Office 365 - Microsoft Office for Students
   • Windows 10 -  University of Michigan Software Portal (use your UNIQNAME/UMICH password)

Note: The ITS Service Desk does not install software for students on their personal devices and only best effort support will be offered for questions related to this setup.
