Problem/Question
How do I use AppsAnywhere on my own laptop?
Overview
At this time only UM-Dearborn College of Business graduate students in select courses enrolled and able to use AppsAnywhere on their own computers to access instructional software. AppsAnywhere is a Windows compatible application. Lastly, some applications require the use of the campus VPN for accessing the software while off campus. The need for the VPN is denoted in the descriptions of the apps. See below for knowledge bases on how to install and setup VPN.
Solution
In order to use instructional software on your personal computer, log into the UM-Dearborn AppsAnywhere website with your uniqname and UMICH password:
https://appsanywhere.umd.umich.edu
Once logged in, select the option of first use or already installed. Selecting the left option will download the AppsAnywhere software and will require administrator rights to install on your computer.
Follow the prompts to install the software.
Select Next and the software wizard will guide you through installing the software on your computer. Leave the default location for installing software unless there is a special need to install the software elsewhere. And click on Allow to begin using software on your computer.
You will see the browser change to blue as it validates you.
If it changes to red the validation was unsuccessful. Refresh the page to try again. The use of another browser, clearing cookies or incognito window can help force the prompt when visiting the AppsAnywhere website. Links to additional troubleshooting can be found at the bottom of this page.
If it changes to green and says Validation Successful, you will be able to use the software applications.
Next, the Cloudpaging player will install on your computer.
