How do I operate the AV equipment in SSB 1400, SSB 1500, and SSB 1600?
Overview
SSB 1400, 1500, and 1600 are large lecture halls with a slightly different configuration from other instructional spaces, but functions almost identically to other spaces on campus.
These lecture halls feature:
Desktop PC (Windows 11), 24" Monitor, Projector, Room Sound System, BYOD Connections (HDMI, VGA), Document Camera, Lapel/Lavaliere Mic, DVD/CD player (Mounted under instructor station)

General Room AV Guide
If you have not logged into the instructor station, please do so before proceeding.
Note: Upon logging in the computer is set to return the computer and AV settings to their defaults. This includes setting screen/projector projection settings and resolution, audio output device and volume, launching AppsAnywhere, and launching AV control software.
For SSB 1400, 1500, and 1600: AV is controlled from the touch panel located on the instructor station.
- Start Button: Turns the projector on and lowers the projector screen.
- Please allow the system to complete the power-on cycle after clicking "Start". (Approximately 45 seconds)
- Power Off: Turns the projector Off
- PC (Default): Projects image from instructor station PC to the projector
- VGA: Projects computer screen to the projector using BYOD VGA cable (located on the instructor station table)
- HDMI: Projects computer screen to the projector using BYOD HDMI cable (located on the instructor station table)
- Hide/Show Screen: Temporarily pauses/resumes projecting audio and video to projector/room sound system.
- Audio Settings
- Mute Audio: Mutes room audio
- Decrease Volume: Decreases room audio output level
- Increase Audio: Increases room audio output level
- Document Camera: The document camera can be turned on by launching the Document Camera program located on the desktop.
- Lav/Lapel Microphone: Can be used to project voice over room speakers.
- A lapel microphone body kit should be available at the instructor station along with spare batteries.
Accessing Additional Software- AppsAnywhere
- AppsAnywhere is a web-portal is being used at UM-Dearborn to offer some software titles on a demand basis across campus. As the library of titles grows, more software will be available in more places.
