Decommissioning/Removal of Printers


Our department has a printer that is no longer in use. What is the process to remove it?


The decommission/removal of a printer process will differ depending on if it is a Xerox printer (leased or purchased) or a Non-Xerox printer. This knowledge base article will guide you through the steps you need to take to complete this process for the printer.


Removal Steps

  1. Gather the following information about the printer: Manufacturer and Serial Number
  2. Submit a request, with the information from the previous step, to our Property Disposition.
  3. We look over the information and will respond to your ticket with the appropriate next steps.
