How do I set preferred pronouns?
Overview
In UM-Connect, pronouns can be added to a name to clarify a person's preference. The changes will be reflected in Canvas, which is the home for all online courses, as well as some assignments, discussions, and resources for hybrid and on-campus classes
Solution
Login to UM-Dearborn Connect using your uniqname and password.
View your personal information.
Edit your Personal Details.
Choose your personal pronoun. If you do not want pronouns to appear, choose "Not Applicable."
Gender Identification can also be specified here.
Click Update to save changes.
When in Canvas, when your name appears, such as in the student list or in the settings, the pronouns should also be visible if specified.
