How can I work on a Microsoft Excel document that has Macros blocked because it was downloaded from the Internet?
Overview
Microsoft has implemented some security settings that make it difficult to work with documents downloaded from the Internet with Macros enabled in Excel. This article will provide a workaround that can be used on documents from trusted sources.
Solution
Before starting if you open the document you will see these two messages in Excel.
1. Go to the file location where the document is saved.
2. Right-click on the document and select Properties.
3. Under the General tab check the Unblock box at the bottom of the window.
4. Select Apply and then OK
5. Open the document and select Enable Content and you should be all set to use the Macros in Excel.
