🆕 The application for graduation has moved to a convenient new online location! It can be accessed via your student profile page, as shown below.
⚠️Please note that you can only submit applications for terms that you are currently enrolled in or are registered for in the future. If you experience issues, please contact the Registrar's Office (registrars@umich.edu or 313-593-5300)
On your student profile page where there will be a vertical menu that populates under your photo on the left-hand side of the page. Select Apply to Graduate
This will take you to the graduation application page. Select your term and the degree(s) you will have completed at the end of it. Click Continue
Select your graduation date. Depending on when you apply, there may be more than one completion date available to you. Then click Continue
Select how you want your name to appear on your diploma. If you want to use the name that the University has on file for you, simply select Current Name. Otherwise, select New and complete the required fields. Click Continue
Choose the mailing address you want the diploma mailed to, or enter a new address. Click Continue
Review the application summary carefully before submitting. Click Submit Request
You will get an acknowledgement screen indicating that your application has been submitted successfully
You can review the information you submitted at any time by returning to your student profile page and selecting View Graduation Application
If you receive this error message and believe that you should be eligible to apply to graduate, please contact the Registrar’s Office at registrars@umich.edu or 313-593-5300
